Texas signed HB 27 in June 2025, making Texas the 29th state to require a personal finance course as a condition of high school graduation. The requirement takes effect for ninth-grade students entering high school in the 2026 to 2027 school year. The course covers income, taxes, budgeting, banking, saving, credit, investing, insurance, housing, and consumer rights.
Texas schools have a defined timeline to identify curriculum that meets the new requirement. With the largest public school enrollment in the country, the demand for a high-quality personal finance curriculum is enormous. The Crescara//Project is fully developed and ready to deploy at scale.
HB 27 sets the minimum. A checklist of topics is not a curriculum. The Crescara//Project sequences Texas's required content areas in the order students will actually encounter them in life, connects them to each other, and builds habits through repetition, not review sheets.
You can't teach investing without first teaching budgeting. You can't teach credit without first teaching income. The sequence is the curriculum.
Texas schools that connect now will be ahead of the requirement. Reach out at info@crescaraproject.org.
